Susan Hayward is excellent as always and found a rugged leading man in 20th Cenetury Fox contract star Stephen Boyd.
This was a 20th Century Fox film but as I recall 20th touted the pic as the first one of Ms. Hayward that was released after her win for UA I Want To Live, and carried banner ads for the picture stating this fact.
I thought Hayward was very good, but Boyd was excellent. My only complaint was that the ending, starting from where Fred fell into the mud-pit, was rushed a bit and therefore seemed a little false.
I also thought it would be more appropriately titled MAN OBSESSED, but that probably would have left Hayward fans and other women disinterested.
----- The Eyes of the City are Mine!Mother Pressman / Anguish (1987)
Boyd's character kept saying "the kid" was scared. Who wouldn't be, Boyd was scary. It's not often you see a star slapped to the floor. Hayward was good.
