I agree. I was flabbergasted that Randy was supposed to run an entire stage line to insure that the Union gets its gold -- something, that was said by his superiors, that could decide the war. And then the entire action takes place in this small Western town where Randy goes against a handful of men -- and this decides the war! What a laugh. Everything was mediocre save the photography and Karen Steele, and Randy of course.

I was still entertained by it, brief and fast moving as it was, but yes, the script was a big letdown. It certainly was not "The Tall T" or "Buchanan Rides Alone", rather more just a standard western. I will say that gorgeous Karen Steele was shown to much better advantage here than in "Decision at Sundown", even if she tended to look more 1950's bombshell than 1860's farm wife!
