i was always fascinated by the pair of gold handled sixshooters that curt blaisdell threw into the dust of the street at the end of the movie. does anybody know what happened to them after the movie? still sitting in some hollywood prop house maybe?

I've always wondered about the guns, holsters and dead bodies laying about in the old west. They just seem to be forgotten about. Although, in this movie Widmark's character did go out and bring in a body. Of course, in the real old west I'm sure this stuff was all scooped up.
shareWell, my thought is...the colts were not really gold handled. They were just fixed up prop items to look that way. After the film the handle covers were probably pitched in the trash and the guns were returned to the supplier of western props.
