Did someone say 'sh*t'?

I'm almost certain that one of the extras clearly says 'sh*t' near the beginning of the movie when the sailors are leaving the bar after being ordered to report back to the ship. I'm surprised that the censors missed it.

Hmm...I didn't notice it, but the disc's already gone back to netflix, no way for me to check.

I just watched it tonight and heard that as well.

I heard it loud and clear. Right after the XO says "lets move it men", count 1.5 seconds and you hear a very clear s**t!
I have had this DVD for years, but never paid that close attention. Thats why I like IMDB, you pick up all sorts of details.

Yep, I watched it today on TV and it sprung out at me, as it's a very unusual thing to hear on a 1950s mainstream movie :)

I have a great love for motion pictures and a keen ear for scripts.Today I'm watching "Up Periscope" for the first time and also heard 'sh*t' at the beginning of the movie. Guess I'm not hearing things in my old age.

I'm watching it right now on DVD. Sure sounded like it to me and it did not sound like a version of shoot either.
