$10 Million Sub???

Anyone notice that several times Commander Stevenson refers to his $10 million sub? I thought that seemed kinda excessive so I did a lil research.

The cost of a Gato class sub in 42/43 was about 2.85 ... while the average cost of a sub was about 2.2.

Mr Stevenson seems to like to embellish ... or uses 1959 dollars values.
