Disturbed at the death of the deaf woman?

Was anyone else really disturbed by how the poor deaf mute woman was killed off by her husband, especially after the way she'd been ignored and dismissed? She clearly had some bad OCD with all the handwashing and safe locking and her husband just laughed it off. She seemed to just worship Vincent Price by comparison, because he actually paid attention to her and acknowledged her as a suffering human being. Also I wasn't sure why Ollie killed her at all, as he had no interest in the Tingler and just wanted to off her because he got tired of her?

And what is this nonsense about having no vocal chords? Deaf people have vocal chords as a rule, unless of course they have a congenital abnormality where they were born without them, which does happen sometimes, but they really should have said, "And in addition to being deaf, she was born without vocal chords!" instead of the weird assumption that since she is deaf and cannot hear herself speak, she must have no vocal chords.

It's funny how I get upset about that in a movie whose premise is that we all have a parasite living at the base of our spines that grows every time we're scared, unless we scream. Along with the performing of an autopsy in the basement of a townhouse.

Also how bout that sexual tension between Vincent Price and Lucy at the beginning!? I was super confused by their conversation because I just assumed by their body language that they were married or having an affair with each other.
