But even then, I found it extemely odd and yes, unfair to the Native Americans. Now that I know how it offended the real Basques, I no longer like it but am still keeping it in my memory as a cultural and cinematic oddity.

I liked it too, and i havent seen this movie for many years, but its finally on TCM on Monday afternoon, so i am happy to record it and have it in my western collection - i remember it being a good movie, and i like Jeff Chandler in most of his movies..
