Where was that car ferry going?
When Hannay is climbing over the steelwork of the bridge on the River below a car ferry can be seen. Where would it be going,and from where?,and does that service still operate?

That was the old Firth of Forth car/passenger ferry, which was superseded by the constuction of the forth road bridge, and no longer operates.
