What other actresses were offered the role of Fisher?

Taina Elg isn't horrible in the role but seems somewhat miscast in the Fisher/Pamela/Madeleine Carroll role in this remake. I think she would've been better in the Nanny/Annabella Smith/Lucie Manneheim role of the exotic foreign spy instead. The trivia section says that several other actresses were offered the role of Fisher first but either declined or were vetoed by Kenneth More. Does anyone know who they were and if any of them were well known? I think that Honor Blackman("A Night To Remember", "Goldfinger") would have made a good choice for the heroine in a 1950s rendering of this tale.
