Director John Guillermin worked some magic on this film.

The hand reaching for the locket ... the hand reaching up from the stakes in the pit ... the frightened running through the jungles ...

Guillermin went on to direct some biggies - Murder On The Nile ... Towering Inferno ... Bridge At Remagen ...

I enjoyed Tarzan's Greatest Adventure and The Towering Inferno, but I still can't get over how bad his King Kong adaptations were.
