Beyond dated. Just embarrassing.

I'm stunned at how awful this film is: the worn story, the cheesey dialog, the amateurish acting (exception: Richard Egan. Even the gargoyle Constance Ford has her moments. The rest...) The sexual hysterics of the late 50's are served up with endless cliches about the power of love, presented as if they were Biblical revelations.

"A Summer Place" isn't so bad, it's good. It's just bad.
