I mean, it's my favorite comedy of all time so I'll be a bit biast, but I truly believe this is one of, if not the best comedy ever.

Yes!

Absolutely my favorite movie period, comedy or otherwise. I would rather watch it than the junk that's out there now. Also, I really like The Thin Man series.

reply

Love this film too.
MM, Jack and Tony Curtis what's not to love?

reply

Exactly!

It always amazes me now good they look as women!

reply

Yes! The best ever. I've seen it a dozen times and never get tired of it.

reply

No, but it has my favorite ending sequence.

I hadn't thought of it, but you are right in that it is a pure comedy. There's barely any part that isn't meant to be simply funny. And it doesn't rely on anyone being dumb (depending on how you view Monroe). A very worthy nominee for BCE.

reply

Yes. It is.

Followed by Ruthless People and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. And The Bank Dick. And for Some (who) Like It Dark, The War of the Roses.

Personally, on a laugh-per-minute basis, I would say Duck Soup is the funniest comedy ever made. But Some Like It Hot is perhaps the most enthralling, and is of course hilarious.

It is my favorite comedy of all time!!!!!
