This is the Cleopatra of animation.

There probably isn't anything out there to top this. It had the money and the time spent on it, they truly went all the way and just like Cleopatra, the results are spectacular, you can see the luxury on the screen. It is the greatest animated film ever made. I do love other animated films more, but they don't have such luxury and technicality, I mean there is not a single frame were the animation or action goes off model. Not one. I can't think of any other like that at the moment. The final sequence with the dragon is one of the greatest action sequences of all time.

I think the only movie to match this is 101 Dalmatians, and it would be the other side of the coin because 101 Dalmatians had severe time and budget constraints, so they did what worked. In Sleeping Beauty everything has detail even the furthest objects in the background, 101 Dalmatians went the other way, it was impressionistic and true to life and in working with the limitations also created an exceptional work of artistic and technical brilliance. I too consider Cruella's chase as one of the greatest sequences of film, just up there with Maleficent's dragon, just in an entirely different style.
