The original 'Once Upon a Dream' or Lana Del Rey's cover ?

The original song in Sleeping Beauty never did anything for me . Lana Del Rey's cover is mysterious , dark and breathtaking and it made me re-discover this song for myself again so I prefer it to the original .

We think too much and feel too little .

Lana has a nice-sounding voice but it's very, very flat in this song. She sings with no emotion, the tune is uninspiring and flat as well.

Mary Costa easily has the most stunning singing voice I've ever heard (coming from someone who normally prefers lower singing voices like Lana's!) and it fit so perfectly with a song featuring classical music.

Lommy: What if the wolves come?
Arya: Yield.

I prefer the original version.

Mary Costa.
All the princesses have nice singing voices, but Aurora's has always been my favorite.

Much has been said about Aurora's limited amount of screen time- but Costa made every minute count. It's not a matter of quantity, but QUALITY.

Straightedge means I'm better than you.

I still haven't seen Maleficent so I had to look up this version on Youtube. I'm sorry to say, but I found it awful. Her voice just doesn't fit the song at all. Mark me down as another who highly prefers the original.

But I'm wondering if this is an age thing.

I usually like the first version of a song I'm familiar with, and I've always liked this song. I had expected to like the new version as well but thought it was AWFUL!
