For the record, I saw this as a kid when it first came out, and I clearly remember all the kids in the audience laughing uproariously at this scene, and many others.
So maybe we weren't as hard to please back then.

lol ... I am dead serious .... I honestly thought that scene was hilarious... Though i was a little stoned..;)

yeah it's such a shame in a way the way the world has gotten,, Hollywood don't even try hard enuff to do a movie like this,, yeah i know they did the remake few years back butt, i don't know this kinda reminds me of watching a movie at grandma's house in the 70's when we all lived in a simpler time.

I haven't seen this film in a long time but I remember one of the parts that had me laughing hard was when Moochie and the dad are being interviewed by police, and the dad is tell them the truth but they won't have any of it. Then the dad asks Moochie to tell them the story and he pretends he doesn't know anything about it. The way the dad kept repeating 'Moochie!' had me in hysterics.

shareI just catched this a few nights ago on TCM as part of their Fred MacMurray spotlight and I gotta agree the scene where he was driving was still pretty funny. Granted its an older movie and not mean to be taken seriously it still holds up pretty well. Even my sister and Dad (and we're all adults) were cracking up especially when he made the signal with his paw that he was turning left! And then the frisking scene was hilarious.
As someone mentioned the scene where MacMurray is with security and they keep questioning him was pretty funny. Just the way he was pronouncing Moochie and then Moochie bailed on him was pretty humorous.
