A question about Brinkmann´s jet.

The two-seated jetfighter Brinkmann is flying near the begin of the movie. Is this a Mig-17? In the original East German version he is a East German pilot and the jet has clearly East German markings. It would make sense since the NVA (Nationale Volks Armee) the East German military had some of them.

Is this where the signature is supposed to be?
