Sapphire '59

Movie girl: I remember seeing this well-acted film on TV with my older sister when I was a grade school kid of 9 or 10. Recently I acquired a copy and though I do still think it was a good film, I really feel angry at the way Sapphire was treated! Not to be accepted in any time period. The shocking thing is that it was in the 50's! I thought Yvonne and Olga and the others were very good in their roles, but I could not help but feel very sad at the end because it was so realistic.

It made me so upset as a kid that I actually remembered who the killer was! I think these kind of stories were important in helping to lift the ban of unfair prejudices.

I do have Flame in the Streets and was very touched with all the performances, especially Sidney's.
