RIDE LONESOME is one of five Boetticher-Scott westerns finally being released by Sony/Columbia Nov. 4, 2008 (election day), in a box set also containing THE TALL T, DECISION AT SUNDOWN, BUCHANAN RIDES ALONE and COMANCHE STATION.

Actually, with 5 films, and even at full price, the set is just under $10 a movie...and less than that for most. Excellent bargain for these five long-delayed oaters.
What I can't figure is why this is called a Boetticher set, with no mention of Randolph Scott?! It was Scott who was the star, the producer and the marquee name -- no one went to see a "Budd Boetticher movie", and his fame rests with the fact that he worked with Scott.
Somebody in marketing at Sony/Columbia has some weird ideas about labeling their DVD releases -- like their new "Martini Movie" line, a name which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Still, the important thing is that they're at long last releasing stuff from their library again. This set is the cream.
