Memories of Pork Chop Hill

During WWII, my father ran the base movie theater at Fort Omaha in Nebraska. As a result of that "wartime experience", he hated going to the movies. That's why I so vividly remember, that on July 4, 1959, my father took me to the Wyandotte Theater in Wyandotte, Michigan to see "Pork Chop Hill". We both enjoyed the film very much, but I mostly remember it because of the special time I had with my father. I'm watching "Pork Chop Hill" right now on TCM (11-02-13)but I'm back in 1959 sitting next to my daddy in a darkened theater viewing the flickering black and white images on the big screen. By the way... 54 years later and it's still a great movie. Gregory Peck was a excellent actor; a Hollywood icon. And Lewis Milestone, one of the most memorable directors.

I liked Peck in this one. Good Film.
My Father, his older brother, My Uncle, and My Uncle on my Mother's side, all served in the Korean War.
