Your sentiments are directed at the wrong person. I felt a little sick too but not because of the way Morley looked. I thought he resembled Wilde but it was his portrayal of Wilde that did it for me. Morley merely repeated his words; that's what showed us who Wilde really was as a person.
Made Wilde look so perverted and so unsympathetic.
Wilde's own actions are what made him a perverted and unsympathetic character. He may have had a talent for writing but he was also a very sick, morally corrupt, pathetic lost soul. Sometimes that happens in life; someone can excel in one area and be sub-par in others.
Wish they had done this film when Morley was younger
Apparently Morley had been playing this role for a long time starting on the stage in England then on stage in the U.S. and then in this movie. Those earlier successes may have been what led to him being cast in the movie. The interest those plays generated may have even been the reason why the movie was made.
Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
