Underground shelters. Really?

I just came across this movie and message board.

To all those upset because for survival they didn't have underground shelters.

Do you know where food comes from?

What would they possibly have enough of to feed even a thousand people for 20 years?

Not to mention potable water and medical supplies.

Even with cannibalism, I don't see it happening.

Exactly, and as I said earlier: what about the kids? How long would they live, and how would they go on living when supplies ran out - by subsistence farming in an infertile world? And how would they learn that rudimentary farming? And would language disappear, beyond the few relevant bits that they learned from the parents? What would parents teach kids about surviving outside the underground bunkers? They would not have been prepared to do any of that.

reply

Exactly.
