Does anyone know where I could find a copy of this film?

I am also looking for a copy of this film. From what I have read about it, especially regarding the camerawork, it would be worth some trouble to find. I have only seen this directors two more wellknown movies, ya cuba and the cranes...

Ditto on the availability inquiry. I first saw the film at a small screening in the late 1960s. It has taken me many years of occasional searching simply to discover the actual title of the film. The stunning images have haunted me for nearly four decades following that single viewing. I was thrilled to read that the movie was restored in 1995... but what has happened to that print. And, perhaps more importantly, is there now a DVD available anywhere in the world (any region code) - and preferrably with either English or French subtitles, although that is not even a critical consideration. I will gladly be the first to buy a copy!

It looks like a new restored print was screened at this year's Tribeca Festival. (I wasn't there, I'm just going from what filmbrain dot com reports.) Maybe a DVD isn't far behind?

It's playing in NYC, part of the "Mikhail Kalatozov: The Emotional Camera" series. http://www.villagevoice.com/film/0740,hoberman,77942,20.html

Texas (no city given) Public Library has a copy. I'm watching it now. English subtitles.

Look or ask about it at your library or inter library loan.
