I saw a photo from this film...

...at The Museum of Modern Art many years ago, when MOMA was having its Russian arts festival. The photo was a little perplexing, as it showed what looked like a woman (you could only see his/her back) dangling a man in his/her arms over a cliff. Since I have never seen this film, I hope someone can clarify the image for me. It must have been a striking image to have remained in my memory that long. That particular festival was well over 50 years ago.

I don't know what scene that photo could be from.

Maybe it wasn't a scene from the movie, but a photo taken during the making of the film.

That's possible. Do you know where I can get a DVD or video of the film? I have heard it is excellent.

If your memory is a lttle fuzzy, that shot might be from "Ivan's Childhood" where Masha is dangled over a trench.
