good movie

6/10

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

I gave it a 6 as well, but it is disappointing in many ways especially as an adaptation of a screenplay. Primarily it was too slow. It could have been better. No Dorian Gray here.

I can't be as enthusiastic over this Hammer yawner. I am not one who needs constant action, but this film was a tad too slow and somewhat uninteresting.

reply

Yeah....
This film was a little too melodramatic for me... Not enough "horror" element. It's not a bad movie, but it's quite apparent why this film isn't as well acclaimed as other Hammer productions of the day.
I scored this as a Blu-Ray double feature with another Hammer film "The Skull." THAT film is really good!

I got both movies for 9 bucks. Not bad at all.

The Man Who Cheated Death LOOKS great on Blu-Ray w/ a high def TV... Looks beautiful...

I remember seeing this one.
Anton Diffring was good in the role of a mad doctor trying at all
costs to maintain his existence, even at the expense of others.
Yes it was indeed a good horror movie.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Answer: It was trying to get away from Col.Sanders.

I like it. It's a little too slow and talky, with not enough good horror moments, but it's enjoyable. The cast is well worth watching.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

reply

It´s gorgeous to look at, and although talky, never bored me. 8/10.

The premise raises some interesting issues concerning ethics and moral responsibility. Moreover, Anton Diffring was excellent in his role and it was nice to see Christopher Lee play a hero for once. 8 out of 10 from me.
