One of Mickey Rooney's best dramatic performances

Rooney's ability as a dramatic actor is overlooked. Even in "Boy's Town" he was only accorded a 'juvenile acting award' for his fine performance as Whitey Marsh. In this nearly forgotten 1959 film which I saw only once on commercial TV, the impact of his character Killer Mears remains seared in my memory.

Probably his best dramatic effort was in the Playhouse 90 live performance "The Comedian."
