Congratulations KILLER SHREWS!
The Killer Shrews joins the Bottom 100 where it belongs
shareCĀ“mon there are far worse movies out there- the Killer Shrews cracks me up, everytime i watch it- just like the Giant Gila Monster. I have to watch all those again really soon..
shareEven though GIANT GILA MONSTER was made by the same production company and written by the same man, its much much worse than THE KILLER SHREWS. KS at least provides a few good shocks now and then, a good actor like James Best (and he is different kind of hero here, a determined southerner, its cliche' buts its not the type that one would find in a science fiction monster movie from this period) and least some logic to the story. GGM has provides no shocks at all, no good acting and has no logic what so ever to the story line and cliche' characters- OK well almost, its a bit unusual to have hero who is a hotroder who is friends with the local sherrif and has a crippled sister.
shareI personally thought this movie was scarier than The Birds. Any movie that can scare me that much has got to be good.
shareThis movie deserves much better. It is a great film.
It does not belong in the bottom 100. There are much worse films.

killer shrews 2 oh yes
shareKiller shrews does not belong on bottom 100, that's way to harsh. The only reason it is because of the dated effects. It deserves at least a 6 or 5.

Isn't the fact that the movie is about killer, poisioness, giant shrews enough to prove that it is perhaps the greatest B-Movie of all times?
~Night of the Lepus with it's killer man-eating giant rabbits can't top it.
~"They!" and it's human-hording giant ants couldn't tie the Killer Shrews shoe laces, around their heads to hold the costumes on.
~Giant spiders, Giant Lizards, Giant insects, and 50 Foot Women cannot compare to the greatness of the Killer Shrews.
One day, there will be a sequel. Or a remake. Perhaps even a prequel. One day.
One day.

"THEM" is the film about giant ants, not "they".
Not being a smart ass.
My bad. I had probably just watched the movie "They" and it was still on my mind...
Yes, Them was the ants. Thanks

There was also "Empire of the Ants". I haven't seen it but the plot outline refers to giant ants.
As for "The Killer Shrews", I rated it as a 6.
I though Shrews had great action and had good character development. I seem to have under-appreciated Best. He was good in Tw. Zone and this. Just went more comedic on Dukes...
