TCM's copy

Kapo is not on tape or DVD. Any idea where TCM got their copy from?

reply

I heard a private collector who got it from the Salvation Navy.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

A film does not need to be available to the public on commercial VHS or DVD in order for a TV network to broadcast it, for heavens sake. How do you think television stations broadcast films prior to the invention of commerical VHS machines?

reply

Indeed...like Hell's Kitchen from 1939 with Ronald Reagan and the Dead End Kids, coming August 24th...NEVER had any video or DVD release...and yet it seems those are the movies that it takes forever for them to show. Anybody notice that? With Kapo there seems to be a minimum waiting period of 6 months, the last time they showed Hell's Kitchen was 4 years ago after Reagan died.

reply

Why would anyone want to show a stinker with that creep Reagan when they can show a great film like 'Kapo'? Yes, he did make one good film, King's Row, unlike his politcal career when he failed to do anything good.
