I'm not sure what you all think, but it seems to appear to me that as soon as she becomes a Kapo, she loses feelings for all her friends. I mean that woman who was gunned down basically saved her life at the beginning, and she didn't even show emotion all she did was take her stockings, I know it was rough and a horrible time back then but I know I definitely would show emotion. Now all she does is boss all her friends around instead of trying to help, she becomes mean and harsh. Now is that just me or are there different ways to view this?? thanks

It's hardly as simple as you seem to want to make it. Yes, she did shut down her emotions, but she did it because it was the only way she could survive without going insane. And how do you know what you would do given such an unimaginable situation? You might do the same thing.

Her friends? She'd shown a sort of like for one and indifference for others. She hadn't made friends. And she did what she had to do to survive.

If you were in her place, you'd probably find socks more important than grieving for a dead friend too.
