I always come into this movie part-way through, while channel surfing.I've seen the last half or so of the movie around 4 times! It is absolutely arresting even though I know how it ends (don't know how it starts! lol), I can never take my eyes of this! I always mean to turn the channel, but it never happens...
shareI just happened upon this movie recently, and I was completely blown away. I wish I could get it on DVD. I totally agree with what you say about Yul Brynner. He is so vulnerable in his love for Deborah Kerr, but his rough exterior keeps you at bay for only a while. I can't wait to see it again, and I want to see all of it, uninterrupted, from start to finish!
shareYes, I LOVE this movie. I first watched it in its entirety on YouTube (in parts). Then, I taped it when it came on TCM. I still have it on my DVR, and I'll be keeping it for the long haul ... I love to recap my favorite parts.
This is one of those great ensemble cast movies with two heckuva leads in Kerr and Brynner. Yul is so dang-on sexy, I can barely stand it. That was a beautiful man. Raw, animal magnetism. He just HAD it like that.
The Journey is certainly on my "bests" list, and was one of Yul's finest works.
