Arriving in Italy... I have a possible answer

OK for those that complained why they exit the volcano near Italy I have a possible answer.

When they got down to the center of the Earth the land that they traveled across was much smaller. And the volcano shafts they entered and left in were set at angles. So it wouldn't matter if the two shafts were a day apart at the center of the Earth because they were at an angle to where they were walking they could exit in any country, in this case near Italy...

If you watch closely they enter the Earth on the first of may and then its snowing Half way through the Journey, when they show the Girlfriend in Edinborough, so I would say it lasted at least 6 or 7 months

Oh GOOD!,my dog found the chainsaw

I can't remember what the number was, but when he was dictating the journal, I believe he said day 253? or something similar. That was before the mushroom forest, so it could have been an entire year they were down there, they never really give any idea of how much time is passing.
