Black and white integration pre-Civil Rights era

What impressed me, aside from the music and the cool style, was how every band was integrated with black and white musicians, and the audience wasn't segregated either. You see music fans in the audience of different races grooving and dancing together, and no one is making a fuss about it.

No way this event could have gone down in New Orleans and pretty much all of the South at that time.

The segregation was not only limited to audiences, but to the bands on stage at well. It just goes to show how wasteful human beings can be at times. Because this is the type of festival that certainly should have happened in New Orleans.

By the time of the end of segregation the classic Jazz Era was pretty much over. What a waste.
