Movie Name Change

I've watched & enjoyed this movie many many times over the years, but always saw it under the title "It Happened To Jane". Just this morning, however, Turner Classic Movies was showing a trailer for it under the title "Twinkle and Shine"?

Does anyone know why the movie title was changed?

Well, it was once named "Jane from Maine" as well. But, technically, it should be It Happened to Jane!

And I LOVE this movie!! Doris Day is at her wonderful best and Jack Lemmon, is handsome, funny and the Everyman's Everyman - as usual! No seriously, he looks pretty good in shorts *wink*

Twinkle and Shine was the film's name during it's 1963 re-release, capitalizing on Doris' turn in the mid-sixties into #1 box office and Lemmon's recent score with Days of Wine and Roses.

My family went and saw it at the drive-in in 1963 (I was 14 at the time), and that was the silly name it was running under (Twinkle and Shine).

...A paperback novelization was issued with " That Jane From Maine " as the title , recently finding it , cheap , ( Tho considerable more expensive than the original 25c , as this movie's sterotyped Maine characters might be expected to say !!!!!!!!! ) is what pointed me here , it was nothing else but " TJFM " on the book ( which I bought , + read ) !!!
