Beautiful Movie

I love it! Jack Lemmon, just after the brilliant "Some Like It Hot", makes this beautiful little movie. In my opinion, this movie should have got more recognition than what it had got. Jack blamed that on the terrible name of the movie.

However "bad" that people criticise it, it's still a wonderful little movie with the always sweet Doris Day.

Sorry. Just had to post this ;)

I agree. I love this movie. It has all the charm of the New England town it was filmed in.

The ending makes you feel all warm and fuzzy too!

I'm a fan of this forgotten film too. I really love the ambience of the town and its environs---it is really beautiful and evokes a so much simpler, purer time in this country. My only gripe is that Jane kind of uses all the men who buzz around her, but Doris makes it much less annoying than it could have been. She has such sincerity that you really believe she IS Jane Osgood. And the colors on the DVD are incredible!

Don'cha think you're a little forward on such short acquaintance? You're compromisin' me.

I agree! This movie is an All-American comedy with two of Hollywood's greatest stars! Funny, light and enjoyable...it's always fun to see the "little guy" win over the big corporate suits!

I loved it too. I watched it on Turner just to see Ernie Kovacs, but I became very caught up in it, even though I'm not usually a Doris Day fan. Great acting, plot, scenery, trains!

This is one of my favorite Doris Day films. She and Jack Lemmon have wonderful chemistry together, and that scene where she gets Lemmon to propose is just priceless!

I just saw it now (first viewing). It's a fun film. Beautiful scenery, too!
