Lurid; made to give a reason to present filmed murders of odd and grotesque methods. Ending is goofy; the assistant turned into a "mr hyde" pastiche is comic book level; but still is a quality work of film with legendary actors doing their stuff.
Interesting film in that it is in colour, when a lot of these UK "B" graders were typically filmed in black and white. It's more graphic than your standard "horror " fare for the period and there were some ingenious murders carried out which clearly served to influence later "slasher" films and franchises. I think it is well worth a look.π
