Confused by the last 10 minutes

Can anyone explain the last 10 minutes of the film. The timeline gets really hazy to me after the airport scene when he looks over and she's gone. In the next scene we see her getting into a car and going to the hotel with him following. Is this a flashback to their initial meeting or has she decided to stay in HIroshima for a bit?

I think the time continues straightforwardly. That's a train station they stop at just because it's open during the middle of the night. And for hazy movie, the ending where she calls him Hiroshima makes it pretty clear that she is leaving. It would be pretty strange to call someone Tex if you are in Texas, for example.

She is trying to forget the pain of losing her forbidden but true first love, along with the universal guilt of the Hiroshima horror, and he reminds her of both. The end is unresolved, in that they both realize these burdensome memories not only can't be forgotten, but must not be --
