Good Film

I liked this film a lot, and on the whole found it better than most of its type. The beauty of Tina Louise is enough to bias anyone, but she plays her role to the hilt. Anyone into crime dramas, or westerns will love this movie.

I agree, this was on Encore Westerns, where my TV stays most of the time. I was really surprised at seeing Tina Louise in this film and this is really a showcase of her talent. I just don't understand what happened to her career after seeing her in this drama. She was very talented and played this part with genuine "angst".

Also, Betty Lynn was in it as well. "Thelma Lou" was just as pretty in this movie as she was in Andy Griffith.

Tina Louise not only is beautiful but she steals the movie from Robert Taylor ( The Hangman), Fess Parker and Jack Lord ( all of whom had better careers then she did). The way she changed from weak washer woman to strong woman is outstanding. There has been a lot of discussion about why she chose the older Taylor over the younger Parker, and the reality is she needs to start over fresh. "I'm going to California regardless if he ( Taylor) wants me or not." Taylor did say "I want her." Being married to the Sheriff ( Parker) and living in the town was not for her and (like Mac ( Taylor)), decided to break free. Excellent performance
