'The Hanging Tree' scheduled to air on TCM in February 2011

TCM has it scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 8 as part of its "31 Days of Oscar" month (Feb. 1 through March 3), when it airs only films that have received at least one Oscar nomination. I wonder whether this airing will coincide with a DVD from Warner Home Video or the Warner Archive.

Let's hope so! It's a terrific film. Unfortunately, according to TCM's schedule, the movie isn't going to be aired in 1.85:1 but let's roll those DVD recorders anyway just in case! Sometimes TCM pulls a pleasant surprise and shows one in widescreen even when the grid doesn't indicate that. My all-time favorite Gary Cooper movie and it will be great to have "The Hanging Tree" on DVD even in full-frame.
