I first saw, and fell in love with Maria Schell in this movie. What a stikingly beautiful woman. And a lovely musical voice ( screams aside)

she is the sister of German actor Maximilian Schell, who won the Best Actor a couple of years later for JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG.

I would not call her a great beauty. She is more of an earthy beauty that exudes a sexy, irresistible magnetism.
