Ingenius Heist

The movie had a clever heist to disable the armored car and travel to LA without being detected. Most B movies of that era had interesting ways of larceny.

they could have been down the road in their own car in the time that it took to change the tire.

Precisely what I was thinking as I watched the film. Cram the car trunk with the cashbags and take off in any direction at a rapid but legal speed. By the time the armored car is missed they could have traveled 30 or 40 miles. And in these per-Interstate Highway days there were loads of quiet side-roads with little roadside motels and tourist courts where one could lay low.

This was the first big plot-hole. The second was our hero leaving witnesses who could not only describe the gang but even identify them by name. With our guy just having gotten out of San Quentin, I can't see him showing such humanity and mercy immediately after murdering the three armored car guards. Lee Van Cleef was right on that one. It guaranteed they would be caught and executed for the other murders.

"Keep It Simple Stupid" applies in most situations and especially so when your life is on the line. But lots of movies have big plot holes. If it's a good film, they aren't hard to disregard. I had never heard of this movie before watching it last night but I enjoyed it. Just taking it on its own terms.

they would have used aliases around the hotel workers. That part did not make any sense either. I really enjoyed this movie though. I also, had never heard of it myself.

Did you watch the movie? They needed the communication from the armored car to keep the police from knowing about the robbery.
