Hello,

Just saw the film. I enjoyed it, but's not a typical McQueen film. I would purchase it if you're a bank robbery fan. It's based on a true story and for the most part, the premise is believable. Some of the actual customers and cops are people in the film. I found a copy a dollar store for a buck. (DVD)

I got it for like 6 dollars on amazon or something. I got it because I'm a Mcqueen fan, and a robbery movie fan. If you liked Resevoir Dogs, I suppose you'd kinda like this.

i totally forgot i posted this thing, but thanx for the info from everyone, and yes i did end up getting it in a set of tree movies about bank robbery, i did in fact enjoy it alot.

Yeah, but this is MUCH slower than Reservoir Dogs.

It was the late 50s.

If you like THE GREAT ST. LOUIS BANK ROBBERY and RESEVOIR DOGS be sure to check out KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL with Lee Van Cleef.

I second that.

Get the digiview verson (slimcase) it has the best transfer, the VINA DVD is good too but a bit on the pale side.

It's available on YouTube, I just finished watching it. Good early McQueen movie:

I see you got it.

Allow me to recommend a few others along the lines of Noir caper:

Asphalt Jungle (John Huston directed)

The Killing (Kubrick)

Straight Time (early Theresa Russell and Dustin Hoffman)

The Killers (either the Burt Lancaster or Lee Marvin version)

Point Blank (modern Noir with Lee Marvin) (I count some color films as Noir)

Thief (James Caan - Michael Mann)

Charlie Varrick (Walter Matthau as action lead!)

Heat (deNiro and Pacino)
