Fun musical drama from beginning to end

What was once a juvenile delinquent musical of the 50's is now high camp. Fun performances by all. Loved all the rock 'n roll songs, especially the title tune. Mamie told me that the reason she didn't record the title tune was because the Catholic Legion of Decency was on her back and therefore didn't feel the record would get airplay. Keep in mind, this movie takes place at a Catholic home for delinquent girls. If you like Mamie's cut song from the movie (seen only on YouTube) Hey Mama, Annette Funicello recorded it on her album Annette Sings Anka. My favorite line in the movie is at the very end. A new wayward girl comes into Girl's Town (stacked like Mamie in tight clothes) and quips, "I know too much chick, that's why I'm here." The downfall of this movie is that Mel Torme is miscast as a delinquent head of a gang. Still, a great time, if you would like a fun blast back to 1959.
