3 Different Personalities of Gidget in the Movies

Sandra Dee played her awkward and naive in the first movie. She did have strength by carrying the surfboard and opening up that can with her bare hands. However, by the time she got to the luau, she knew how to make her comebacks with Moondoggie, by indicating she was infatuated with Kahuna and even though he was a father figure and Oedipus complex, her feelings toward him were not daughterly. That's when she knew how to get what she wanted.

Deborah Wally played her more talented. poised and polished. She mastered surfing and she could dance, She made Abbie green with envy.

Cindy Carol, seemed to revert back to Sandra Dee's Gidget by making her clumsy and comically. The only thing i did not like about the 3rd movie was that she never did surf and neither did Moondoggie.

I liked Sandra Dee's version, best. Her youthful, effervescent personality was charming!

Well said! I got the sense they tried to recreate that to a certain extent in the Hawaiian one, but it didn't quite work as well.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.
