Mario Lanza's weight

There are a few subtle and not so subtle references in this movie, to Lanza's weight. One is when he is walking by a scale and steps quickly on and off, and makes an expression. Another is when he is joining a family for dinner, one of the hostesses says if he sings he can have all he can eat or drink. He replies, "that's all I need". The new WB release has glorious color.
