More modern than modern day America...

I watched this cute little movie a couple of days ago, and it made me sad that the progressive and intelligent motto of the 1950's have more or less disappeared in modern day America.

"Intelligence", "logic", "inventions", "adventure", "exploration". What ever happened to that?

It feels just like the opening monologue of "Newsroom"...
