Aspect ratio

Does anyone know what it was? I think IMDB's 1.85 is wrong. They can't be relied on.
I have a recording from TBS and the titles are letterboxed. When I crop and calculate they turn out 1.5. That's a meaningless ratio, really adds to the confusion. It's the exact ratio of a 35mm camera frame.
So maybe it was 1.66.
It's murder trying to sort out aspect ratios of videos. What's a good utility that can check a DVD for example and tell the display AR plus the packed AR. They can be recorded in a compressed shape on the disc. Then converters can make errors.

I know this message is over a year old, but I have been searching everywhere for a copy of this movie. Do you know where I could get it? Or did you ever figure out the aspect ratio and were you able to post anywhere?

A couple of reviews noted that the image looks like "VHS quality" and was likely taped from a TV broadcast, so buyer beware.
