Loves Dad more than Mom

Why is it that one child (Anne for example) loves Dad more than Mom? And why doesn't she tell Mom "You NEVER understand me!" I think that's why in one episode in a show (off-topic here, folks) Friday Curse, a girl's mom drinks because she love her dad more

I'm sure that happens in many families where a child will say they love one parent more than another. Perhaps her mother did more discipling than her father. Remember also that Anne was a teenager. It is hard being a teenager in normal times but think how it must been for her growing up in war torn Holland hiding from the Nazis and still trying to live a "normal" life.

It's fairly typical of girls Anne's age. By Margot's age, they are getting along better with their Mothers. The Oedipal and Electra myths came about for a reason.
