Thanks for the info Hobnob, and it is about darn time! TCM shows it every 4th of July and I recorded it one year, and kept it. However, my DirecTV cable box then quit on me, and had to order a brand new one. Unfortunately, that wiped out everything I had recorded. For me, there will always be a need for physical media!

For you and me both, pal! The same thing (cable box replacement and recordings lost) has happened to me. I lost Riders to the Stars!

I'd heard that this film was going to come out but it was weeks before it finally showed up with release dates and details. I really like TDD a lot, especially since, in the tradition of British cinema, it remains absolutely faithful to Shaw...even with Kirk and Burt in it!

Ha! Glad I am not alone! And I'm sure it has happened to many, many others as well. I say thank God for physical media!

Yes, I keep forgetting that despite being shown every 4th of July on TCM, THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE is a British production, and helmed by future James Bond director, Guy Hamilton.

I am using to seeing this in July. I will feel strange watching this during the Christmas season! 

I don't recall that TCM always runs TDD on the 4th of July -- not disputing it, I just don't remember. I think they show it at other times, though. Either way, it'll soon be immaterial to we of the physical media.

Not only is this a British movie, filmed in England, but it's a co-production of Burt's, Kirk's and Larry's production companies! Everybody wanted a piece of the pie. But I think the thing was a flop.

Those are some interesting tid bits. I knew about Burt's production company, but did not realize that Kirk Douglas and Olivier's companies were also involved! But financially, it looks like they did not get a great return on their investment - but it is still a damn good movie!
