Burt, superhero of the Revolutionary War......

Always love the slow build up to Burt Lancaster's transformation into an unstoppable force against the British....the hints that he possesses incredible physical strength. (single handedly lifting his carriage off the rocks)...all of it leading up to his one man battle in the heart of British headquarters. Look carefully....as the ammunition dump explodes, the entire room gets blown apart...and there's Burt, standing in the middle of it, with a huge smile on his face!

If you look at the very 1st issue of "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" (1962), creator Jack Kirby based "Bruce Banner" on Burt Lancaster, as he was seen in the movie "The Sweet Smell Of Success" (1957). So clearly, the idea of Lancaster having incredible inner strength seems to have been popular.
