It looks like some sleazy paperback from the 1980s. It's nothing like the original theatrical posters, or previous VHS artwork! It looks like something from a totally different era! Horrible!!!
Yeah! I agree! Even the glasses on this horrible cover are not the 'Harold Lloyd' type used in the movie, but 1950s Buddy Holly style. Also the glasses were found in grass, not on a tiled floor as shown on the cover! It's just tacky!
i agree with you michael but i have to point out that
the reason the glasses are on the tile is because in the movie (not in real life) someone (in this case, martin milner) finds the glasses on the tiled floor of the morgue, remember? in real life leopold's glasses were indeed found on the grass but the movie is a fictional account, and in the movie theyre on the floor.
and the glasses are dumb looking on the DVD, i agree, with those big black frames, looks like the movie should be called THE DAY WOODY ALLEN DIED or something
Haha, agree with all. In general, fox DVD releases are lacking in cover art. Look at all of their classic releases (excluding the series'), all of them try to look modern and it's really inappropriate. Warner got it right with their cover art.
enik is right about the glasses being found in the mourge, I now remember it was Martin Milner who discovered the glasses, but not the early 1960s style on the horrid cover, and I doubt there was a blood drop, and the late 1990s font is horrible too!
No, I don't agree. I think the cover of the dvd looks really awesome, with the glasses there and the blood, it makes you wanna grab it cause it's interesting and eye catching!
