Ruth Evans

I know that more or less of this movie has been fictionalized, but it seems that most of it's done for dramatic effect while attempting to portray the events as factually as possible. That's of course based on my limited knowledge of the case. I've read about the case a bit, but nowhere have I found the Ruth Evans' sequence being mentioned as yet. Had the movie used real names, it might have helped more to pursue the answer to my query. Is Ruth Evans' character based on any real person or was it a partly/completely fictionalized character? If there's one, did she testify at all?

Thanks to helpers.
